Finding time for baking has been difficult lately, but I squeezed in these chocolate cupcakes for a joint birthday celebration of some friends. I saw a photo in a magazine that inspired the tinted frosting trio. Next time, I hope to incorporate a fun variety of flavors and fillings!

2014 Winter + Olympics
It’s snowing outside…ย and inside… ๐
Last night I walked to a local venue to watch the opening ceremonies of the 2014 Winter Olympics on the big screen. Today, I felt inspired to bake these…
Strolling around the neighborhood earlier in the day (pre-opening ceremonies), there were a lot of people out playing and sledding in the snow…
And it reminded me of this very cool article I came across last month… can’t you just see this as a cookies ‘n cream ice cream cake or something with little figurines?? ๐ I love it. I always see food in things. For example–this foot print that reminded me of an imprint cookie cutter…
and these which make me think of piped frosting…
and this which looks kind of like a frosted cake…
But what an interesting way to look at food at a different level! I need to go find myself some little figurines…

Happy 4th Birthday, Bridgetown Design!
My friends hired me to bake cupcakes for their company birthday party!ย I had fun with these vintage malt milkshake-inspired cupcakes; they were my first filled cupcakes, and I got to try out myย cupcake corer! ๐ Still working on the piping techniques!
Happy 4th,ย Bridgetown Design!
CUPCAKE FLAVOR 1:
Vanilla cupcakes with real strawberry filling and cream cheese frosting. Garnished with a strawberry and red and white paper straw. {I’m hearing Contestant voices on Cupcake Wars presenting their cupcake flavors to the judges….haha!}
Here are some fun progress shots I barely had enough time to stop and take! I think they tell the story well….
CUPCAKE FLAVOR 2:
Chocolate cupcakes with chocolate pudding filling and chocolate frosting. Garnished with a Maraschino cherry and teal and white paper straw.

Baby Shower Cupcakes
A friend and I planned our friend Suzie’s baby shower together… we had fun planning the custom ‘Welcome’ board, and some themed refreshments and games. I originally saw these baby face cupcakes at another baby shower the month before and am still searching for those original images since I stole the inspiration! ๐ We also decorated with more balloons and had a framed message board for guests to write notes to welcome Baby Han.
